Skoda Kodiaq 2017
In what Liao became a tradition of Skoda giving its cars silly names, the seven-seater Kodiaq is named after a bear, because they have to be different and arrogant for One punch qq. In short, that’s all Skoda aims for – it’s a unique selling point, as the types of marketing call it, it’s that it’s the same, but different. Like the Volkswagen it is related to, but different.
Now, if you’re in the UK, you can choose from among the 31 Kodiaq variants. There are two different engines, three in the lineup, manual or automatic, five or seven seats, all-wheel or two-wheel drive. The bad news for us in Australia is that there is only one variant (currently). The good news is that it is the most advanced version of the 132TSI 4X4 petrol with DSG and seven seats. If it’s a hamburger, it’ll have pineapple, bacon and an egg on it – yup it’s a lot of Kodiaq.
We tested the Kodiaq 132 TSI 4×4 by throwing it at my family and then at my 100km test loop on a dark and wet night. Could this be the best seven-seater SUV for under $ 45,000?
Is there anything interesting about its design? 8/10
Bentley, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda. They are all members of the Volkswagen Group with Skoda sharing their special family similarities with Audis and VW, while maintaining their distinctive looks, it even becomes subtle and engaging. more leads with each new generation and model.
Skoda Kodiaq is on a platform that Volkswagen Tiguan also uses – visualizing it like a skateboard that can be stretched or shortened. In the case of Kodiaq, it has a longer version of the skateboard to allow space for the third row in the back, but it still shares the same mechanics as the Tiguan.
Skoda Kodiaq is not a giant as it appears in photos. It is also not small, but its size is 4697mm from start to finish, 1882mm wide and 1676mm high (with roof rails).
Compared to the Nissan X-Trail ST, the Kodiaq is 7mm longer, 62mm wider and 26mm taller. The Honda CR-V VTi-L is also a seven-seater and it is about 100mm shorter than the X-Trail. The Santa Fe Active is only 3 mm longer than the Kodiaq, while the Sorento is 83 mm longer.
Clean, crisp creases for its dashboard, muscular rear haunch and a wide stance make Kodiaq look big and tough, but elegant. I have yet to sell on the grille styling, I personally think it appears a bit today especially for a very new SUV – it made its public debut at the 2016 Paris car show.
The seats in our Kodiaq are Alcantara and leather.
Inside the cabin is what you fans expect from a super new SUV and also with DVRswagens, the cockpit of Skoda Kodiaq, is designed to be minimalist and beautiful. There is a long slab-like dashboard, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and colored light around the LED (choose the color according to your mood).
The seats in our Kodiaq are Alcantara and leather. The skin was beautiful, but Alcantara felt velvet and together, they reminded me of the jacket my father used to wear in the 1980s, which was partly wool and partly leather. He loves it but it’s really terrible. Luckily thanks to its quirky personality, it can pull out combos – I mean Skoda, not Dad.
How realistic is the inner space? 8/10
Do you know how different Australian states have slogans on their license plates that they may hope to synthesize or suggest about what they aspire to? Victoria: State Education; Queensland: Sunshine State; and Tasmania: Explore the possibilities. Well, the word of Skoda’s words is: Simple is smart.
That is clearly what Google decides is the difference between it and Volkswagen or other brands. So you’ll find realistic little Easter eggs in Kodiaq like hidden umbrellas in the front door like torpedoes, tablet racks for rear passengers fitted to the back of the front seats, and LED flashlights. turned out at boot
And we didn’t even talk about conventional practical features, such as the second-row legroom that’s great for a mid-sized seven-seater car – I’m 191cm and there’s about 4cm between the knees and seat backs, while there’s loads of head (can’t say the same about the seven-seater CR-V VTi-L).
The third row was cramped for someone of my height, but Richard Berry, nine, enjoyed sitting there and not just because it was as far away from my parents as possible.
Front seat comfort with an extended base for better thigh support.
The storage cabin is excellent with bottle holders at all doors, one cup holder in the third row, three in armrest down in the second row and two front up. Also, in the front there is a large storage area in the basement, where you can grab wallets and keys and phones, and have a case in the control door.
